Today (12/2/2011) marks my one year anniversary of the LAST TIME I put the creamy crack in my hair! This one year journey has been a great learning experience of getting to know my natural hair again after making the decision to go natural to transitioning for a few months to finally deciding it was time to do the big chop. I have truly enjoyed this journey thus far, and I have NO plans of turning back. I’ve been completely natural for almost seven months. Yea Me! ![]()
I haven’t really been trying out any new hairstyles since before my six month natural hair anniversary last month, and for the past month I’ve been very busy learning my new position at work and packing so I can move- hopefully next weekend. I think once I get settled and situated in my new place and become comfortable with my new position I’ll start playing around with some new hairstyles. Basically, I’ve been wearing my hair in a puff (easy go to hairstyle) and making sure I keep it moisturized. However, I’m anxious to start experimenting with other hairstyles, especially since my hair has grown more since my big chop.
Below are a few pictures of my hair in its relaxer days, transitioning stages, big chop, and my newly natural self. I’ve also included a video of my natural hair journey. I want to give a big thanks to the natural hair community on YouTube who have provided and continue to provide me with some very resourceful information on transitioning and ways I could grow out my natural hair without big chopping immediately. You guys gave me the courage to do my own big chop and begin to re-love the hair God gave. ♥ ![]()

I love the mini twists look!
Thannks Robyn! They are actually a little longer than this now. I posted a picture of what they look like now on my FB wall this past weekend.
